OX CONTROL

OX CONTROL

Preservative for tanks

016OXCO0020

The natural origins of biodiesel, present by law at a percentage concentration of between 5% and 7% in diesel used as fuel, is biodegradable and therefore degenerates over time. This leads to the development of algae, fungi, yeasts and moulds in the fuel which, once deposited on the bottom and walls of the tank, can cause corrosion and the blocking of filters. OX CONTROL is an innovative preservative for tanks used for technical products and diesel fuel which allows for the restoration and maintenance of the overall microbiological hygiene of the tank, impeding the spread of algae, fungi, yeasts and moulds. OX CONTROL acts on damaging micro-organisms in diesel fuel, leading to their elimination. It is characterised by its wide-ranging action (also effective on sulphate-reducing bacteria), it acts immediately and guarantees long-lasting protection against the microbial degradation of materials. It also possesses anti-corrosive properties. Does not contain nitrates or nitrosating agents or chlorinated organic compounds (does not alter the AOX value).

Carefully follow the instructions for each specific situation.

PREVENTIVE TREATMENT Thanks to the stability of OX Control in diesel fuel, 80% of the original concentrate is still active even after three months of storage at room temperature, and therefore ensures long-lasting protection even in low concentrations (50-200 ppm). PRODUCT DECONTAMINATION In the case of contaminated diesel fuel, 200-500 ppm of OX Control (corresponding to 2-5 L per 10,000 Litres of diesel fuel) is sufficient. INTENSIVE TREATMENT In the case of microbial contamination which is already visible or which causes technical problems (eg. filter blockages), an intensive dosage of 500-1000 ppm of Ox Control is recommended. The best procedure consists in the adding of the product to a 1/3 full tank. When the tank is then filled, the product will be mixed. The dosage is to be calculated on the total volume. As with all preservatives, under-dosing is to be avoided because, due to requirements of biodegradability, the effectiveness is rapidly lost when used below the level of required activity. If under-dosing is regularly carried out, there is a possibility that certain micro-organisms may not be eliminated by the preservative. In these cases, as the majority of other organisms will have been eliminated, the surviving organisms may find ideal conditions for growth.
